Alice in Wonderland- Review
Posted by Ryan in Uncategorized on March 7th, 2010
Just got back from seeing ‘Alice’ in 3D. After all the hype and massive exposure that it has had it has been built up to be a great film. I was very excited to go and see it as I have been analyzing the promotion for media studies.
Initial reviews didnt really rate and neither do I.
The opening part of the film (pre falling in a hole) was painfully bad as in plot and acting. It was set in victorian times and Alices boy friend proposes to her and this is just awful because your thinking boring storyline. How does she end up in the forest? Well after being proposed to she runs after a rabbit! What WHY no one would ever just chase a rabbit down a hole!
The plot was very thin as they kept referencing that she doesnt remember coming here before and the characters say you dont look like THE alice, I wanted to say I GET IT ! Its a sequel to the original she has grown up from the original disney animation. DONT KEEP GOING ON ABOUT IT. The plot was just a bit thin and slow (and predictable.)
Johnny Depp… not good. Most of the film I felt the mad hatter was just Jack Sparrow dressed up as the hatter, I kept exepcting him to jump on a boat and sail off on another adventure.
And Mia Wasikowska will never be in another hollywood film again as she is the worst and most wooden actress ever.
3D was wasted on the film too.
I feel iv’e been rather negative it has its good parts but only 2.5 stars out of 5 average film. SSorry Tim

Media, media and more media. Thats the plan get as much media work done as soon as possible so that I can concentrate on ICT and Business exams after easter. Unit 4 marketing…Im enjoying it becasuse I seem to just be getting pages and pages of work done
Running is on track which is good all I need to do now is have a real push on the sponsorships!
Its a very weird feeling that I have at the moment I am very much in limbo, it feels to early to start worrying about exams but not to early to be thinking about them and leaving school but also too early to get to caught up in the Uni stuff. Am desperate to sort my student finance out but cant till I choose my place! Which I cant do until I go to TVU… and although I was set on Sunderland Uni, tonight I thought maybe Canterbury is the right one and I should go with what my mum keeps hinting at :S
Long week
Posted by Ryan in Uncategorized on February 27th, 2010
It has been a long week which has involved alot of editing of the SAGCYFM film that has finally come to a wrap. I have had Dan Newman pop round several evenings to help with things on the project. Other than that I dont know where the week has gone but it has been really long.
Cracking on with lots of Media work in the final unit which is all about marketing and i think will be really good once I get the written part out of the way.
I have an interview at TVU next month and once I have had that it will be the time to make the final decision for uni argh scary!
While the internet was down

I have not had any internet access at home for a whole week. Power cut which blew the box! Should be fixed tomorrow so am writing this at school.
Over the half term I have been taking lots of pictures of all the things I have been doing.
Tuesday was the Video Broadcast Expo in Earls Court, the same place the Brits were being held that night! Saw SKY3D it was awsome. Cannot wait!
In the evening when I got home, Sixth form party at vita, I was the driver but still had an awsome night.
Wednesday up at 6am to go to canterbury uni. Really nice place. Saw this in a WHSmith while there… who would buy this?
Check out this street name. (I wonder what goes on down there!)
We stayed in a travel lodge overnight and this was the sight on the way home on thursday
Since then I have been editing the SAGCYFM work and I am really pleased with it. (and myself as this is the biggest edit work I have done!)
This is one shot of the gainsbrough statue talking!

Things that dont happen in real life
Posted by Ryan in Uncategorized on February 3rd, 2010
So I was watching TV and and thought how some things dont work in life that do in films or tv….
1) Shouting outside a house “Kids come out here and have a look” If you have double glazing and the doors and windows are closed you will be waiting a long time.
2) If you have a montage scene in your head no one else can see it you will look silly just staring into space.
3) If you and a couple walk off into the sunset you never disappear becasue the world is round.
4) Toys dont really come alive when you leave the room
5) People dont burst out into song and dance unplanned, if you tried this you would be the only one singing and the there would be no music!
Maybe I should make some Youtube videos out of this…
ipad
